LONGBOW TEAM STRIKES AGAIN
On Sunday 2nd November, at Bridlington archers annual indoor tournament myself, Colin and Noel entered and as we were all shooting longbow we also entered as a team. Shooting for the afternoon session started at 2 p.m. and after the first dozen we were placed first, second and third for the session. As usual the venue was packed and shooting progressed quite slowly but I suppose some one has to give those guys with the wheelie bows a chance to shoot. Three hours later shooting ended and after the raffle and a pause whilst Hi-tec slowed the scoring process the results were announced appropriately the longbow scores came first with Colin claiming first place and I took a very close run second. The awards ended with with the presentation of the team trophies and the best prize of the day Chantry's archers ended a four year unbeaten run by Selby's longbow team.Martin Jordan
FANTASTIC NEW VENUE
Thursday 16th October saw the club meet at its brand new venue - Aston Cum Aughton Leisure Centre. The centre, which is less than one month old, proved to be a clean, extremely well lit and very pleasant indoor venue. Check out the photographs below, courtesy of Barry Armitage, and click here to go to our venues page which lists target fees and has a map with directions to the leisure centre.

A GLORIOUS DAY FOR FITA 900
Attendance at the Record Status FITA 900 shoot on 21st September was very good with all those participating enjoying the fabulous weather. As per usual, the event attracted many of the top local names who duly delivered as far as scoring was concerned. Thank you to all those who competed and helped out for making it such an enjoyable day. Click here to go to the Gallery for photos from the day. The results sheet will be available for download shortly.

YOU CAN'T KEEP A GOOD MAN DOWN
Well done Colin on participating in the YAA Longbow Shoot 2008 - even if you did need a little extra help with mobility. Well done also to all the other archers who endured dreadful conditions. See the YAA website for more details.
